The 1970s: The first generation of gaming had a huge impact on you. Whether it was the first coin-op for SpaceWar or the culmination of Space Invaders, you identify with the formative steps taken by the industry. Perhaps it was you who proved there was a market for gaming one quarter at a time. Pac-man, Asteroids, Adventure, Zork, and many other pivotal titles were launched that spawned some of the most critical companies in gaming history. In this era was the fateful transition from arcades to living rooms with the launch of the Atari 2600 and the rise of the first third-part developer Activision! From the 70's, all that we have today was born. Without people like you living or worshiping that era, there would be no billion dollar gaming industry. So for that we say thank you.
